Match the Price Plan to Your Team: McMain Lite, Team or Pro by Team Size
McMain Lite, Team and Pro Explained by Team Size
McMain has three plans, and the choice follows the size and maturity of the technical department: Lite at 35 euros per user per month, Team at 65 euros and Pro at 85 euros. Team is the most chosen plan, according to McMain, and it is the right answer for most departments that outgrow the basics. Dutch support is included in every plan, whatever the number of licences.
The sections below describe each plan with the features McMain lists for it, then show how full users and mobile users change the bill. For the wider market comparison, read the best CMMS software with support in the price after this page.
Lite Is the Starting Plan for Small Technical Teams
Lite costs 35 euros per user per month and is described by McMain as the ideal tool for the basics of a technical department. The price is per user, so a department of 5 technicians pays for five licences and can read the monthly cost straight off the price page.
Lite is the plan to pick when the department wants to replace spreadsheets and paper with a proper system for faults and work orders, and to learn the system before adding more modules. Every Lite customer has the Dutch support team behind the first weeks of use.
Team Is the Most Chosen Plan for Growing Departments
Team costs 65 euros per user per month, and a mobile user on Team costs 35 euros per month. McMain describes Team as the plan for departments that have mastered the basics and are ready to expand. It includes everything in Lite and adds work permits, authorisation management, project management, contract management, and purchasing and inventory management.
The Digitale Monteur technician app is available from the Team plan, which gives technicians a mobile tool for their daily work. That combination explains the position of Team in the range: one plan covers the office modules and the field app, and the mobile user rate keeps the cost of a large field crew low. A department of 10 to 50 technicians fits Team naturally.
Pro Is the Full Platform for Multiple Sites
Pro costs 85 euros per user per month, and a mobile user on Pro costs 45 euros per month. McMain calls it the advanced platform for the maintenance professional. It includes everything in Team and adds multiple sites, single sign on (SSO), audit trail and Excel import, with every feature available.
A department that runs several locations picks Pro for the multiple sites feature. An organisation that wants staff to log in through a central account picks it for single sign on, and a team that needs a record of changes picks it for the audit trail. Excel import helps a department that keeps its asset and task lists in spreadsheets move them into the system. Because Pro includes everything in Team, a department never loses a module by moving up, and the mobile app stays in place for the technicians. The step from 65 to 85 euros per full user buys the multisite, SSO, audit trail and import features in one step.
Which Plan Fits Which Team Size
The table gives the McMain recommendation by team size, with the published rate for full users and mobile users. The prices are per user per month.
| Team size | McMain plan | Full user | Mobile user | Reason to choose it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small team starting out | Lite | 35 euros | Not applicable | The basics of a technical department |
| Growing team of technicians | Team | 65 euros | 35 euros | Digitale Monteur, projects, contracts, stock |
| Larger team on several sites | Pro | 85 euros | 45 euros | Multiple sites, SSO, audit trail, Excel import |
Full Users and Mobile Users and What Each Costs
McMain separates two types of licence. A full user has access to everything the chosen plan contains. A mobile user works only in the mobile app, where a technician can report a fault, create a work order and complete it.
The mobile rate is 35 euros on Team and 45 euros on Pro, against 65 and 85 euros for a full user. A department with planners in the office and technicians on the road therefore pays the full rate for the planners and the mobile rate for the technicians. The CMMS cost per technician calculator turns that split into a monthly total for any headcount.
Moving Up From Lite Without Changing Systems
A buyer does not have to guess the plan in advance. The Dutch support team helps the department see which modules it needs. Starting with Lite and moving to Team keeps the same product and the same Dutch support team, and the step from Team to Pro adds the multisite and audit features on top.
The budget side of that decision is covered in the CMMS shortlist by budget checklist, which applies the same published prices to teams of 5 to 50 technicians.
A Plan Walkthrough for Three Example Departments
Take a technical department with three technicians who today use paper and a shared spreadsheet. Lite fits: three licences at 35 euros per user per month, the basics of the technical department, and room to move up later. The cost is easy to explain to a manager because the formula is licences times 35 euros.
Take a department with two planners and eight technicians who work from phones. Team fits: two full users at 65 euros and eight mobile users at 35 euros per month. The planners get the full set of Team modules, from work permits to purchasing and inventory management, and the technicians get the mobile app and the Digitale Monteur.
Take an organisation with several locations and a requirement to keep an audit trail. Pro fits: full users at 85 euros, mobile users at 45 euros, and the multiple sites feature that Pro adds. Each of the three departments has a clear plan, and each plan has a published price.
How to Choose the Plan in Three Steps
First, count the people who need the whole system and the people who only need the app. Second, check the Team feature list for work permits, projects, contracts and stock, and the Pro feature list for multiple sites, SSO, the audit trail and Excel import. Third, put real work orders into the system and see which modules the technicians actually open.
For most technical departments that outgrow the basics, the answer is Team. It is the most chosen McMain plan, it includes the Digitale Monteur, and its 65 euro price is published in full. Place it next to the other entries in the top 5 maintenance software with published prices and the pick is clear.
